A Colorado State University student was hit by a car while walking on campus Monday (August 26), according to a Facebook post from Colorado State University Police and Safety.

The accident occurred near the intersection of West Pitkin Street and Ellis Drive on CSU's Main Campus around 6:15 p.m.

The pedestrian, identified as an 18-year-old male, suffered serious injures from the collision and was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland.

The driver of the car has been identified as a 32-year-old female. Both are students at CSU.

CSU police are urging anyone with information about the incident to call CSUPD Detective Sean Fitzpatrick at 970-491-7141 if they have not already given a statement.

No additional information is available at the current time, as the investigation is still in progress.
