The bicyclist who was killed in a crash with a semi truck in Berthoud on Monday has been identified as CSU professor Gary Moody.

Moody, 62, was riding his bike in the same direction as a tanker truck on Berthoud Parkway near Mountain Avenue when he crashed into the passenger side of the truck. The Larimer County Coroner's Office announced yesterday that Moody died of "multiple blunt force injuries" and ruled his death as accidental.

According to the CSU website, Moody, who grew up in Longmont, taught oboe and bassoon at CSU as an adjunct instructor in 1988. Dell Rae Ciaravola, a CSU media relations specialist, told the Reporter-Herald that Moody was a basson and music theory professor at CSU. The Reporter-Herald also reported that Moody was a member of the Fort Collins Cycling Club.
