CPW Investigating Poaching Incident in Morrison
A Morrison resident had a sad discovery recently, when they came across a female deer who had been shot with arrows, just after giving birth.
The doe was found in the Willow Springs neighborhood, and had one arrow inside her gut, and another in her neck. She unfortunately passed away as a result of her injuries. Being that the doe had just given birth, neighbors are now worried about the fawn's chances of surviving without its mother.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife said they are treating this incident as poaching, and a reward of $500 could be offered for information. The person responsible for shooting her with the arrows could potentially face misdemeanor or felony charges, as well as suspension of a hunting license.
