Colorado’s Safest Cities 2019: Northern Colorado Town Ranks #1
Backgroundchecks.org has published the Safest Cities to Live in Colorado 2019, and towns in Weld County top the list, CBS4 reported.
According to the study, which is based on FBI violent and property crime statistics by population, the safest place to live in Colorado right now is Firestone in Weld County. Firestone had less than one violent crime incident per year per 1,000 people, with a property crime rate just under 9 out of 1,000.
'Like many Colorado communities, the population of Firestone rapidly expanded in the first decade of the 21st century, but in this city’s case, the population growth did not lead to a higher rate of crime,' the study says.
Frederick was not far behind, ranking third, Windsor; 6, Johnstown; 9.
Northern Colorado's larger cities were ranked farther down: Fort Collins, 18; Loveland; 24; Greeley, 28. See the full list here.
