Colorado Town Decides No Police Force is OK

It wasn't like they had a huge police force, but it does seem sad that they'd rather just not have one as opposed to paying for it.

Kiowa gave notice to their police force on March 29, 2019, that they were out.

9News has the story on how all three officers were let go. Three. The town officials said that the 'force' was too expensive, which I can understand when they say it cost HALF of the town's entire general fund. They also stated that they had concerns about the 'level of service' being provided.

They'll have the Elbert County Sheriff's Office handle things from now on, apparently.
