Colorado States Makes Early Season Quarterback Change
After a devastating loss on Friday night during the Rocky Mountain showdown, Colorado State has made a change which may not be shocking to it's fans.
The Coloradoan announced on Tuesday that head coach Mike Bobo will start quarterback Faton Bauta when they take on Texas-San Antonio this weekend.
Bauta is a graduate transfer from Georgia and came off the bench in Friday's 44-7 loss to Colorado. He went 6 of 9 for 32 yards and a touchdown. He replaced Nick Stevens who threw two interceptions to go along with 6 of 20 passing.
It was a rough game on Friday for the Rams from start to finish, as they went 5 of 16 on third down conversions which didn't help the final outcome to the game. They also didn't get a first down until midway through the second quarter.
Colorado State will also be without wide receiver Xavier Williams who is sitting out his second game of a two game suspension. Left guard Paul Thurston is doubtful for the game against UTSA.
The game this weekend will be at Hughes Stadium on Saturday with a 2 P.M. start. You can listen to all the action on our sister station, Rock 102.9.
