This year marks the first time in weather history that the city of Denver has not seen even a trace of snow by this time of the year. That goes back as long as they've been tracking the weather, which they've been doing in Denver since 1872, longer than anywhere else in the state.

It's been unseasonably warm this fall so far, and that has led to any precipitation falling as rain instead of snow, across the lower elevations of the state. That said, the forecast may change slightly in the couple of weeks ahead. This weekend there is precipitation in the forecast, and if it gets cold enough and times out overnight, we may actually get a trace of the white stuff. But just a trace.

November is technically the front range's fourth snowiest month on average, each year. March and April top the list, followed by December and November, in that order. Typically the Denver metro area sees about 7 1/2 inches of snow each November.

But here we are nearly 2/3 of the way through the month and not a single flake. Kinda bizarre.

The official recording site for snowfall in the City of Denver, by the way, is way out east at Denver International Airport.
