The American education system lags behind the rest of the world in many categories.

We are, in some ways, the most advanced society in the world. We also rank 28th in the world in the education of our kids in math and science.

This is probably not news to you. We've long been hearing the contradiction where America, world leader in so many instances, can't keep up with the education of kids in other countries.

We are also the fattest country in the world.

HomeSnacks.com looked at the graduation rates of each state in the nation, and compared that to countries with similar graduation rates.

Not very scientific, but they came out with an interesting map nonetheless. View it here.

And, the good news is that Colorado can be compared to a country who performs much better in the rankings on the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development's list. On this list, Colorado is lableled "The Netherlands".
