Rare Toothpick Injury Leads to Colorado Man Suing Village Inn
Village Inn originated in Colorado, so it's sad to find out that not only has one closed, but that one is being sued because of a toothpick.
Not only was the man injured, but was injured fairly badly; after all, swallowing a toothpick is definitely going to cause problems. Now, the former owners of this Village Inn are facing litigation.
Village Inn has the vibe of "comfort food;" there's nothing comfortable about a toothpick in your food.
Colorado Man Suing Former Greeley Village Inn
There used to be a Village Inn in Greeley at the corner of 10th Street and 30th Avenue; that location has closed, as many have over the last few years, but is still facing a lawsuit.
According to the Denver Post, a man is suing the restaurant after swallowing a toothpick that allegedly in the man's skillet meal in September of 2022.
After eating the meal the man later felt ill and in the end suffered a perforated bowel. A perforated bowel is a serious condition that can have life-threating results; so the man had to undergo surgery to repair the damage.
There's no information on what the man is seeking from the lawsuit; but it does seem likely he's looking to get back the costs of the surgery bills, as well as punitive damages.
With the restaurant being closed, it seems like it might be a hard battle; but if all I wanted was to have a little breakfast and ended up in the hospital, I'd be litigious, as well.
