Colorado Included in Ice Cream Bar Recall Due to Possible Listeria

One of the manufacturers of ice cream bars has recalled several of their products due to a ‘positive’ listeria find during a routine check on one of their production lines.

Fieldbrook Foods, in full compliance with the FDA, is recalling their orange, raspberry, and chocolate-coated vanilla ice cream bars dating back to the production date of Jan 1, 2017. This recall, due to a possible listeria contamination, would also include any variety packs containing the ones mentioned.

Colorado stores that carry the Fieldbook Foods ice cream bars (under other names) include

King Soopers -- 'Kroger' brand

Save-A-Lot - 'World's Fair'

Dollar Tree- 'Party Treat' 

The plant code is 362677.

People who purchased the ice cream bars are asked to return them to the stores where they bought them for a full refund. Customers with questions may call Fieldbrook Foods at 800-333-0805 x2270.

Listeria may cause serious or fatal infections in young children, the elderly and people who have weakened immune systems, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The organism may cause high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea in otherwise healthy people and miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.
