8 Fun Drive-In Movie Theaters You Should Visit in Colorado
When is the last time you went to the movie theater in Colorado to see a film? Was it Top Gun: Maverick? Now when was the last time you got in the car and saw a film at a drive-in theater? Two of them are just down the road from Grand Junction.
These fun trips down memory lane are sadly not even possible in some places in America. Here in Colorado, friends can still pile in the car to check out a movie on the jumbo screen and listen either via the radio or a tiny squawk box hanging in the window of your vehicle.

The Concession Stand
It's truly a lost art. Carrying 4 tubs of popcorn and 4 drinks across a parking lot back to your car without spilling anything. Extra points if you could also balance extra snacks on your head. Almost all of the theaters on our list have a full concession stand at the Drive-In. Others may let you bring your own.
Opening Night on the Western Slope
The Tru Vu Drive-In in Delta is usually open in May. Right now they do not have information listed for the 2023 season but we expect to see more information soon.
In Montrose, the Star Drive-In plans to open on April 7th, 8th, and 9th with a double feature. You can catch The Super Mario Brothers Movie, followed by Champions with Woody Harrelson. Tap this link for ticket info.
