I'm a bit of a soda junkie.  Always have been.  I even got that new machine that lets you make your own soda, and it gets more use than any other appliance in my kitchen!

However, no matter how much I may indulge in cheaper off-brand colas, I've always enjoyed Coca-Cola a bit more.  There's just something about it, a "something" that has remained a closely guarded secret; that is, it seems, until now.

According to an article on AOL.com, the public radio show "This American Life" claims to have uncovered the formula for Coca-Cola's secret ingredient, code-named "Merchandise 7X."  Supposedly, the secret compond is alcohol-based, and also consists of citrus oils, nutmeg oil, corriander, neroli and cinnamon.

The folks at "This American Life" used this recipe to make a batch of home-made Coca-Cola, and apparently it fooled one expert in a blind taste test, according to AOL.
