As Colorado begins easing COVID-19 restrictions, along with amusement parks/centers adapting to restrictions, the summer of 2021 is ready for fun.

Whether you're ready to check out a new place for adventure or get back to a classic Colorado park, 'READY' seems to be everybody's word. We are 'READY' to go!

6 COLORADO AMUSEMENT PARKS TO CHECK OUT

• MUSTANG MOUNTAIN COASTER - ESTES PARK

The anticipation has been very high for Estes Park's mountain coaster. The newest alpine coaster in Colorado is located on the Walker Ranch, which has been in operation since 1959. The Mustang Coaster opens May 21, 2021.

• ELITCH GARDENS THEME & WATER PARK - DENVER

Elitch's has been around since 1890 when Denver was only 30 years old. Over 130 years later, the park has entertained millions of visitors as a family destination. Thrill rides, kids rides, the gardens, the water park, and more. Speaking of family, my uncle worked for the park for many years Elitch's 2021 official open date looks to be May 1.

• NORTH POLE- HOME OF SANTA'S WORKSHOP - CASCADE

For over 60 years Colorado's North Pole, at the base of Pike Peak in Cascade, has been providing family fun. Everybody loves Santa, and everybody loves to have fun. The North Pole plans to open in May of 2021.

• LAKESIDE AMUSEMENT PARK

Lakeside opened in 1908 as 'White City' because of all the lights. Right off of I-70 and Sheridan, the historic park is easy to get to alongside Lake Rhoda. One neat fact that they still have a telephone switchboard still in operation. They plan on being open sometime in 2021. 

• GLENWOOD CAVERNS ADVENTURE PARK - GLENWOOD SPRINGS

It's the only theme park on top of a mountain, with plenty of activities for everybody, including their own alpine coaster, the 'Cliffhanger roller coaster, the 'Soaring Eagle' zip line, and their super-fun Gian Canyon Swing. Their summer season begins in May of 2021.

• WATER WORLD - FEDERAL HEIGHTS

Water World first opened in 1979 with just two big waterslides. Over 40 years later, it's hard to imagine the park ever being that small. When you go, be sure to use plenty of sunscreen and use it properly. I once put SPF all over my legs- but forgot my feet before changing into sandals. I still have a nasty burn. Water World's 2021 season is still being worked on, but they do plan on being open.
