Governor John Hickenlooper has spoken with parents whose kids receive marijuana for medicinal purposes, and has said he found their "reasoning and advocacy very compelling."

Even though parents were already legally allowed to give MMJ to their kids at school, usually for seizures, the new law allows school nurses to administer it to students as well, provided there's a written agreement between the parent(s) and the school.  The parent is required to bring a doctor's note outlining the prescribed dosage and timing.

The drug would be kept in a locked storage container.  In fact, Governor Hickenlooper says he signed the bill because of the precautions it includes for it to not "end up in the hands of other students."  For example, the new law forbids students to carry the marijuana to the nurses's office themselves or onto a school bus.
