CDOT Shares Apocalyptic Photos of Colorado’s Mountain Highways Burning
Four major wildfires are burning in Colorado, which has made traveling through the mountains tricky (where it's even possible).
If you need to head west from Fort Collins, you're going to have to go through Wyoming first, with Highway 14 closed at Rustic, and authorities asking travelers to avoid the Poudre Canyon. And, if you need to travel from the Front Range to the Western Slope (vice versa), I-70 is, for the most part, off limits.
Smoke from the Colorado wildfires has been so bad, it's visible on satellite images from space.
