On October 9, 2025, a fire broke out in the early morning at a beloved shopping center in Nederland, Colorado. All 19 businesses within that shopping center were destroyed, facing many months, if not years to restart operations. A Boulder County community foundation set up a GoFundMe to collect donations that the would match, up to $10,000.

When you hear the name of the relief fund, you're taken back a bit; the fund is the 'Play Forever Fund,' created by Eldora Ski Resort. It's just a little weird, "Fire," and "Play."

From Eldora:

Play Forever is Eldora’s commitment to ensuring that future generations have the same opportunities for an adventurous life that we enjoy today.

Play Forever's 'Ashes to Action' Fundraising Challenge

Started soon after the fire and running until Eldora's scheduled opening day of November 14, 2025, people were encouraged to make a donation to help Nederland recover and rebuild. The Play Forever Fund would match all donations, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000. You can donate HERE.
