Power lines in Broomfield caught fire after a semi truck crashed into them on Tuesday (July 21) afternoon.

The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. when the semi truck collided with a pole at 144th Avenue and Sheridan Parkway, causing power outages and closing 144th from Sheridan to Aspen Street.

Videos from the Broomfield Police Department (BPD) show heavy black smoke coming from the scene, as the North Metro Fire Rescure District tries to calm the blaze.

Thankfully, fire crews were able to put out the flames. The driver of the semi truck is unharmed, and 144th is now open.
