It's amazing to me how someone could be in the midst of treatment, fighting a scary disease, yet feel like she is more full of life than anyone I ran into yesterday.

But then, when I think about it, it's not all that shocking. She gets it. Because of her challenges, she understands more than me. October is one big lesson in gratitude.
