Family restaurant fans in Fort Collins will soon see the return of an old favorite, as Black-Eyed Pea is bringing one back to town for the Choice City and Northern Colorado.

When Did the Former Black-Eyed Pea Shut Down in Fort Collins?

It was in the spring of 2013 that the Black-Eyed Pea on College Avenue in Fort Collins, near Troutman Parkway closed its doors. It's hard to say how long it was open; it had to be more than 10 years. It was definitely sad to see it go.

At one time, there were 130 Black-Eyed Pea locations in America. Today, there are 10: One in Amarillo, Texas, and nine in Colorado.

How many Coloradans have been into a Black-Eyed Pea on New Year's Day to get some black-eyed peas for good luck with the upcoming year? With them coming back to Fort Collins, I'll be putting that back on my list; a little tradition is always fun. Plus, that Chicken Fried Steak? Gotta have it.

9News was keen to catch Black-Eyed Pea revealing the news:

Where Will the New Black-Eyed Pea Be in Fort Collins?

While the company was quick to announce that they'd be coming, they kept the "where in Fort Collins" portion was left out. According to BizWest, however, they'll be taking over the spot once held by Outback Steakhouse at Harmony and Boardwalk.

It's hard to believe that the spot has remained vacant since Outback Steakhouse closed back in 2021.
