For those of us that are self -employed, telecommute, or have a non-traditional job like mine, finding a spot besides home to be productive can be a challenge. Accomplishing anything that pays from the comfort of home can be great, but sometimes we need a change of atmosphere, or to get away from our dog who is overly sensitive and crawls up under our arm when we talk to ourselves or scold our computer.

Coffee shops are a short answer to the 'Where else can I get free internet?" question. Then we ask, 'Which coffee shops?"

Also, there are places besides coffee shops that offer wifi, and an atmosphere suitable for being productive.

Here are a couple of our favorite spots to enjoy wifi, have a cup of joe or something to eat, and crank out some productivity.

Cafe Vino

This is a fine dining restaurant, so it may not be the spot if you are in sweats and a tank top. Beyond that, it is one of my favorite places to plop down for a few hours of concentration. The staff is superb. Your water will stay full, and if you need anything, they're never far away. I suggest the standard latte. Some of the servers make art with the foam. Totally fun.

What I like about Cafe Vino is its luxurious feel, choice of seating types, and laid back atmosphere. For the excellence of the food, from the ingredients to the creativity, it really is a very chill place.

Also, their gorgeous patio looks out on College Ave., and across the street, on the CSU track.

Biaggi's in Centerra

Biaggi's is another great spot that has a very solid Wifi connection with a solid staff and, of course, great coffee. It doesn't open for breakfast, but you can be sure to find a comfy table, some delicious bread, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and an attentive server. They have a great happy hour for appetizers, and if it's not during the rush, you'll be sure to have room to focus.

Dazbog

Dazbog has great coffee, a very helpful staff, and a great atmosphere for work. The one at North College and Cherry has a room downstairs that can be great for meetings of more than a pair of people. They have a great patio as well.

Stuft Burger Bar

What? A burger bar for getting some work done? Oh yes. Now, it's not the hottest spot for coffee, but if you're like me, sometimes a milkshake, not a cup of coffee is what is needed. Their patio is right on College in Old Town, so it may be distracting to watch the people, but I've gotten a lot done there in the past.
