Billboard is about to celebrate its 125th anniversary. In celebration of the achievement, they are celebrating the achievements of others with the Top 125 Artists of All Time. They put together a formula combining artists that charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200 album charts.

With 20 songs on the Hot 100 and 19 albums that charted on the Billboard 200, with 132 combined weeks spent at the Number 1 spot (the second most is 52 weeks at Number 1), the Beatles are the greatest artists of all time, according to Billboard. During BeatleMania in 1964, The Beatles had six number one hits in the calendar year (still a record), that they unseated their spot at Number 1 with their own songs.

Coming in at Number 2 on the Billboards All Time Greatest Artists are the Rolling Stones. With nine number 1 albums, eight number 1 songs and 37 top 10's, theirs is a pretty impressive resume.

Elton John, Mariah Carey and Madonna round out the Top 5. The rest of the Top 10 are not surprising. You have to give credit to Taylor Swift, since she's such a new modern artist but was still able to crack the Top 10 at number 8. Barbra Streisand (#6), Michael Jackson (#7), Stevie Wonder (#9), and Chicago (#10) rounded out the list.
