It has broken my heart and stuck with me from the moment I heard about this incident involving the 6-year-old at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. It just makes me hug my 6-year-old a little harder. As our thoughts, condolences, and prayers go out to her family and friends, the little girl from Colorado Springs has been identified by the coroner.

According to Denver 7, the girl's name was Wongel Estifanos. She was vacationing with her family from Colorado Springs when this horrible tragedy happened.

She attended Stetson Elementary School in the District 49 school district near Colorado Springs. Denver 7 has also confirmed that a GoFundMe has been set up for the family to help with funeral costs.

The coroner’s office said Tuesday, Sept.7 that Estifanos died of multiple blunt force injuries. They said the final cause and manner of death are pending the completion of the investigation into her death.

The incident happened on the Haunted Mine Drop ride over Labor Day Weekend. Investigators from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment’s Division of Oil and Public Safety, which regulates amusement park rides and leads accident investigations, are investigating the accident this week alongside the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office and the city of Glenwood Springs. They stated on Tuesday that the ride has passed inspections recently by a third party and has been in compliance with all regulations since the ride opened up back in 2017.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I can't even begin to imagine what this family is going through right now. Let's keep them all in our thoughts, and may this sweet little girl rest in peace.
