4 Day School Weeks Becoming More of a Thing In Wyoming

Ten Wyoming school districts last Thursday were changed from five day school weeks to four day school weeks, according to Oil City News.

The Wyoming State Board of Education approved Campbell No. 1, Carbon No. 2, Crook No. 2, Sheridan No. 1, and Sheridan No. 3 to shorten the school days from five to four days a week. The other schools that got approved for the four school day week are Little Snake River Valley Schools in Carbon No. 1, Lusk Elementary and Middle School, Niobrara High School, and Lance Creek Elementary. Instead of a four day school week for schools in Johnson No. 1, they compromised and made Friday an early release.

These approvals are for the 2019-2020 school year.

Even though the school weeks are shortened that doesn't mean the kids don't have to go to school their required hours. Elementary students are required 900 minutes a week and secondary levels are required 1,100 a week. The days will be longer for the kids so they can get their required hours.

The school week will look like this, Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
