Colorado Summer Fun: 2023 ‘Frederick in Flight’ Hot Air Balloon Festival
With the first summer weekend of 2023, comes the 12th annual "Frederick In Flight" Hot Air Balloon Festival, not far from Fort Collins, not far from Denver.
This will be a great, three-day event to celebrate Colorado, hot air balloons and summer. After a dozen years, the Town of Frederick knows how to put on this event; the Saturday night of the event they'll be throwing a big party.
Though a small town, Frederick is part of the set of towns that make up the Carbon Valley: Frederick, Erie, Firestone, Dacono, and Mead. Three sisters named the town after their father Frederick Clark, back when the town was incorporated in 1907. The towns' "Frederick In Flight" seems like an event those ladies would be proud of.
Frederick holds lots of fun events like the the chainsaw art competition that I enjoy so much, and is home to the first location of Mountain Cowboy Brewing. I think it would be a great place to live; the 14,000 that live in Frederick would appear to agree.
YOU CAN PURCHASE A RIDE IN A HOT AIR BALLOON
For $400, you can sponsor a hot air balloon; by doing so, you and another person can take a ride.
Each morning of the event, there will be a "balloon lift," with a big party on Saturday evening, all happening at Centennial Park, in Frederick.
