Over 100 Golfers to Compete in Longest Drive Contest in Colorado

Golf in Colorado is very popular, with over 300 courses covering the state. The Centennial State's higher elevation does make that ball go further, that's for sure. Maybe that's why this event is holding its Championship in LaSalle for the first time.

Lawn Company in Northern Colorado Lands Golf Event

I, for one, am excited about this whole idea, and I don't even shoot links golf: Golfers from all over gathering in LaSalle to see who can drive a golf ball the furthest. Not a a golf course, but at a turf producing company's land. I wonder how Bigfoot Turf landed the event; not to say they didn't deserve it, but.. LaSalle? Who saw that coming?

About 11 miles east of Northern Colorado's famous Fritzler Farm Park is a not-so-famous turf fam, Bigfoot Turf. 2025 will mark the fifth time that Bigfoot Turf has hosted the World Long Drive Championships when it comes to town in late September of 2025. According to a press release, more than 120 of the world's best long drivers will be competing for cash and bragging rights.

I have friends that are good at golf; their longest drives are about 380 yards. The competitors in the World Long Drive Championships are driving the ball about 60 yards further than that. One of the 2025 competitors had a 443-yard drive during the season; that's why the have carts, I suppose.
