Why NoCo and Fort Collins Are Work From Home Meccas in the US
I had a conversation the other day about how nobody "goes" to work anymore, at least not in the same sense we once did. Back even just before COVID, having a job usually meant going somewhere to do it and boy has that changed in a big, big way.
And I'm not just talking about turning a side hustle into your main job, whether selling stuff online or being a content creator or anything like that. I mean even working for some of the biggest companies in the world no longer means you even need to live in the city where the company HQ is.

A study last year revealed that Fort Collins and Northern Colorado were ranked among the best metro areas in the United States to live for remote work. Boulder was the top of the list, oddly enough, but Fort Collins came in #7, behind cities like Portland, OR, Austin, TX and Raleigh, NC.
Many chalk up the appeal of the area to the vast list of things to do around here - from being outdoors, getting up into the mountains and the quality of life being that Colorado is one of the healthier states in the US, better air quality, certain better water quality, etc.

While it's nice to be popular, it does come with tradeoffs. More people working from home means more congested "things" throughout the day. Your favorite trail might be more crowded during non-peak times. Housing prices - as we know - have significantly increased over the last handful of years and more.
