On Wednesday, June 30, Windsor High School announced the rescheduling of the 2020 Hall of Fame ceremony to October 2021. Two former student athletes, the entire 1981 Varsity football team, a long-time maintenance professional and district coach, and a community icon will all be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

The ceremony was postponed due to COVID-19 and will take place on Saturday, October 9 at 5:30 p.m. It will be held at the Banquet Hall of Pelican Lakes Resort & Golf Course. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased from Jenelle Duvall by email or phone.

Inductees include the 1981 AA State Championship Football Team, 1979 graduate and community icon Martin Lind, longtime lead maintenance employee Kevin Bowles and student athletes Brent Vail (2000) and Lori Pitz (2001).

Lind will be receiving The Legacy Award for community service and improvement of Windsor School facilities. Bowles will be honored with the Murray Kula "Spirit of the Wizard Award" while Vail, a standout golfer, and Pitz, a record-breaking track star, will be enshrined as student athletes.

The 1981 football team is the third team to be inducted and the first football team to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Lind is a community standout, the Colorado Eagles hockey team owner, CEO of The Water Valley Company, a fourth-generation Windsor resident, and a 1979 Windsor High School graduate. He was also a football player and wrestler during his time at WHS, but his contributions to the Windsor School District have been greatly impactful, to say the least. All four of his children are WHS graduates, and his work with the district has made a lasting impression on facilities, educators, and students. When asked about the honor, Lind told Townsquare Media:

Being inducted with this legacy group is very honoring given the amazing pedigree of humans in this hall of fame. The importance of youth sports and having opportunities to compete and excel have molded and driven me in my adult life, and career. My passion to give back to our schools and community was chiseled into me from athletic and social experiences at Windsor High School.

The Windsor Football Team will host its inaugural Hall of Fame game the evening before the ceremony. At halftime, all 2021 inductees will be recognized on the field. The kickoff is at 7 p.m. against Greeley West High School. Make sure to get to H.J. Dudley Field early to get good seats for the game!
