In some of the odder news of the day, talk show host, comedian and podcaster Conan O'Brien claimed on a recent episode of his "Conan O'Brien Has No Friends" podcast that he has "beef" with the State of Colorado - all stemming from a mysterious autographed photo of him in the office for Roxborough State Park in Littleton.

Back when Conan hosted the Oscars, Colorado Parks and Wildlife posted a picture of the signed headshot on their X - formerly Twitter - account, asking the comedian if he knew the back story for how the signed pic came to be. They claimed nobody knew the story of how or why Conan sent the picture to the office and for whom it was meant, as it was written to "the park rangers" as it was signed.

Fox31 in Denver ran a story about the tweet, and that news report was played for Conan himself on a recent episode of their podcast.

His assistant, Sona Movesian offered that maybe someone had written in requesting his autograph, but due to her taking too long to get him to sign a photo and return it, whoever requested the pic no longer worked there by the time it arrived, so nobody knew how or why it was sent.

Conan - being Conan - offered: "Okay, well, big shocker. Maybe somebody who worked as a park ranger in this area of Colorado took a liking, for some reason we don’t understand, to my comedy stylings and asked me if I would autograph something for the park rangers, and I sent it in and they put it up on the wall and it stayed there."

He likened the picture being like a mysterious crop circle and said that obviously someone there was a fan of his at one point and jokingly suggested he was upset over the news report questioning why someone would like his comedy.

“We’ve got beef now, Colorado, we’ve got beef,” Conan said in the episode, to laughter from his co-hosts. “I’m coming for you. I’m coming for you. — I don’t even know what that means."
