There can be no other explanation for what's going on other than the Colorado family whose Christmas keeps getting interrupted by the cops MUST live next door to or across the street from the Grinch.

Erica and Joshua Montgomery live in Castle Rock with their two kids and have gotten into the Christmas spirit by putting up - granted, a non-traditional - festive display this year. Only problem is at least one of their neighbors doesn't seem to like it too much and keeps calling the cops.

The Castle Rock Police Department has visited the family eight times over the display, which they say has generated more than 20 complaint calls from neighbors. But in the end, the police always leave after telling the family that their display doesn't break any laws.

Untraditional, for sure. It features a 12-foot tall alien wearing a Santa hat and some other odd lasers and lights that aren't necessarily traditional Christmas decor. But these decorations were mostly chosen by the family's kids and any parent knows that when your little kids want to do something - even if it's a little weird - sometimes it's fun to just go with it.

Even more, not only is the family not backing down and removing the perfectly legal lights in support of their kids choices... they're adding more. They've put together an Amazon Wish List so that others can contribute to their decorations. Might be a fun way to tell that Grinch neighbor from afar that you should never call the cops on the spirit of Christmas.
