Take a Look at ‘The World’s Largest Tiny Home Resort’ in Colorado
Lodging options in Colorado range widely: From expensive hotel rooms in Aspen, to cheap motels like you might find in east Fort Collins.
When Did the Tiny Homes Excitement Begin?
Tiny Homes have been around a long time, but the tiny-home movement of the modern-era kicked in around 2000, with it really taking off during the Great Recession of 20208, when many were losing their homes.
People started looking for cheaper, more sustainable options, and tiny homes fit that quest.
Every now and then, you'll see a "tiny homes festival" come to town; like the one that came to Loveland in 2022. It's fun to see a wide variety of tiny homes in one setting; you get a feel as to what you, yourself, might be looking for in a tiny home.
A resort in Lyons, which was born out of the devastating floods of 2013, is made up of tiny homes. Six people came together in 2015 and created WeeCasa, which, as of 2025, has 22 tiny homes that can accommodate 87 people. Individuals or groups can rent out the homes for a stay.

The resort is close to town, so you can check out local restaurants and bars, without it being a hassle. Or, just hang around the resort the whole time; kick back by the fire, and share some stories. For groups, like a company "bonding adventure," I think it would be fun to stay at the resort for a couple of nights. There is a two-night minimum when booking, keep that in mind.
