Two fires on the same day in restaurants is a rarity, but it happened in Boulder. Luckily, no injuries were reported at the two establishments.

I worked at restaurants when I was younger, as many have, and the thought of a fire always gave me the chills.

Colorado Daily has the story on how on Thursday, October 23, 2019, the Boulder Fire Department responded to the two fires. The first, at The Kitchen Bistro on Pearl Street at around 11:30 a.m.

It sounds like the grill exhaust system had a failure; there were no injuries as about 15 employees and about eight customers were evacuated from the building. The Kitchen Bistro has had to close for an undetermined amount of time because of damage caused by the fire.

The second restaurant fire that day was much smaller. At Boss Lady Pizza, the soda machine had a small fire, which they believe started because of short in the power strip it was plugged into. They shut down for just a little while. Again, no injuries.
