‘The Wolverine’ Motion Poster: It’s Raining on Hugh Jackman in Tokyo
Though we're still a ways out from the release of James Mangold's 'The Wolverine,' this week has been populated with next summer's biggest films announcing themselves through trailers. Though the Hugh Jackman 'X-Men' spin-off film doesn't seem to be unleashing a trailer this week, they have put out a motion poster.
In it we see Jackman's Wolverine crouching in front of the Tokyo landscape while it rains. And, oh yeah, he's got a samurai sword. You'd think he wouldn't need it with the claws, but it must be nice to have a backup. Evocative and moody, it already makes the film look better than 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine.' The film isn't due out until July 26, 2013, but we're interested. We were alerted to this poster by Collider. And here it is:
Here's the film's synopsis:
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.
The summer of 2013 is already looking pretty amazing. Here's hoping at least half these films deliver.
