The City of Fort Collins Natural Areas posted a status yesterday that elicited laughter, but was also a good reminder for hikers, runners, and everyone in Colorado right now: beware of "danger noodles".

"Be snek aware! Danger noodles live here!" the post reads, warning of the abundance of snakes this summer in Colorado. Often seen on hiking trails and in natural areas, the COFCNA says to practice caution.

So, what do you do if you see a "nope rope"?

Remain still or slowly back away. Wait for the hazard spaghetti to move away and give it room to escape.

The City wants to remind everyone that snakes are ecologically important and they don't want to meet you...So, if you can, give them space. Read the full (hilarious) Facebook post right here, and BE SNEK AWARE!
