For over ten years we've seen artists painting murals on pianos while in Old Town Fort Collins. Those pianos are then placed at various public places in the city, for art and music to be enjoyed.

How many times have you seen an artist working on a piano when you visit Old Town Fort Collins? Since 2010, when the first three pianos were painted, it's been fun to see them work. Maybe you've never seen the completed work; here, we have the completed pianos from 2022.

Since its inception, the "Pianos About Town" project has seen over 100 artists, from Colorado and elsewhere, using their talents to create beautiful, unique pianos for the citizens of Fort Collins and visitors to not only observe, but to play.

The project is a collaboration between the City of Fort Collins Art in Public Places Program along with Bohemian Foundation and The Downtown Development Authority. Dating back to 2010, it's hard to know who's idea, exactly, this was; whomever they are/were, it's perfect for The Choice City.

You'd have to think that while being in Old Town for two weeks, the artists make a lot of new friends. Interacting with the public is a part of the project's goals.

How many cities/towns across Colorado and the nation are doing this?
