Silverthorne

Those who were issued a mandatory evacuation order due to the Ptarmigan Fire near Silverthorne will be allowed to return homes this morning (Thursday, Sept. 30) at 10 a.m.

The yak made its escape on January 9.

Last week on Highway 9, just north of Silverthorne, a moose was struck by a car and it was caught on video. Youtube user Kayla Whitehead captured the incident on video. Some people might find this video disturbing as it is graphic. Thankfully, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, neither the moose or the passengers of the vehicle sustained serious injuries...
