Fourth of July

The Weld County Sheriff's Office has reminded northern Colorado residents NOT TO CALL 911 to report illegal fireworks.  So, what number should you call?

As always, fireworks will blast, bands will play, runners will run, and ballplayers will take to the diamond for Fort Collins 4th of July. This year, we are also adding a parade.

Just last year I made the joke that it wouldn't be too much longer before people started staking out their spots with tarps and blankets for the Greeley Stampede’s July 4th Parade a month early. At least in some spots, spots won't be staked out early at all this year.

It doesn't seem to matter if you've lived in Northern Colorado 20 years, 20 days or 20 hours, firework violations within the city limits seem to go along with the Fourth of July.

I just love when communities come together for holiday traditions, even if it's just something as simple as ringing bells...

If you're planning on attending Loveland's Fourth of July Festival, you'll notice some extra transportation, pedal cabs. Volunteers from the Big Thompson Interact will be pealing the pedal cabs around North Lake Park on Wednesday. The pedal cabs are sent to be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If you are wondering if Windsor is still planning to have their professional Fireworks display over Windsor Lake on the Fourth, as of Monday, they are going on as planned. The Town of Windsor has a lot planned for the day on the Fourth of July, 2012.
