Suspect Arrested After Thursday Old Town Fort Collins Shooting
A suspect as been arrested for attempted murder after a shooting in Downtown Fort Collins on Thursday night (October 29).
According to Fort Collins Police, 22-year-old Abdirahman Ahmed of Fort Collins was booked 'on the charges of Attempted Second Degree Murder (class 3 felony), First Degree Assault (class 3 felony), and three counts of felony menacing (class 5 felony).'
The incident happened on College Ave. and Oak St. in Old Town just after 11 p.m., when the suspect fired a handgun and then fled the area in a vehicle. Ahmed was later found nearby and arrested.
Fort Collins Police reported that one adult male victim was transported to a hospital with a gunshot wound. Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call 970-416-2571, or can anonymously provide information here.
