Super Easy Stromboli Recipe
If you're in the mood to cook up something new, look no further than this super easy stromboli recipe. Similar to a calzone, stromboli is rolled up dough that's stuffed with toppings and baked to cheesy, gooey goodness.
Ingredients:
- 11 ounce can of refrigerated pizza dough
- 8.5 ounce jar of pizza sauce
- At least 2 cups of mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup cooked Italian sausage
- Pepperonis, pineapple, peppers, mushrooms or whatever other toppings you want
Cooking Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- On a large baking sheet or flat surface (line with parchment paper or use flour underneath to prevent sticking) stretch out the dough so it's a big, flat square
- Spread the sauce onto the dough, but don't go quite to the edges
- Place your cooked sausage and other selected toppings evenly over the sauce
- Top with cheese
- Starting with one side, carefully roll it longways and then place it seam side down on the baking sheet
- Cut 4-5 small slits on the top so steam can get out
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, until crust is golden brown
