Colorado Getting 7 New Fried Chicken Spots
Colorado chicken restaurants better get ready, as a California-based chain will be opening their first locations outside of California here in the Centennial State.
Starbird Chicken Headed to Colorado
They just keep coming: These chicken places that see Colorado as their next big success. Raising Cane's, Dave's Hot Chicken, Popeye's, to name a few. I hadn't heard of this Starbird place until it was announced that they're coming.
Starbird Chicken opened its first location in 2016. Washington state will join Colorado as having the only locations outside of California.
It looks like a place that used to be a marijuana dispensary will become Colorado's first Starbird location, according to the Denver Post; along Colorado Boulevard south of Cherry Creek.

This is a chain that started out in 2016, and has 17 locations around Los Angeles. They're not huge, but apparently, they are expanding. A franchise group in Denver will be opening seven around Denver, with hopes of several more (hopefully around Fort Collins) in the years after.
RestaurantBusinessOnline put out a list of things you should know about Starbird Chicken, including:
- All the chicken is anti-biotic free; the coating is gluten-free.
- Salads make up about 30% of all of their sales.
- They have an education program, giving employees up to $5,000 for studies.

Though these first locations in Colorado aren't in Northern Colorado, at least it's better than them opening in Colorado Springs (like a lot of chains do.)
Starting in Denver, makes it easier for Northern Colorado to see at least a few Starbirds in the coming years.
