Legendary Colorado Concert Venue Set to Make Return

Colorado is known for having some amazing concert venues, such at Red Rocks, and The Mission Ballroom. One venue in Denver, that had been open since 1997 but closed in 2024, is set to make a return to pleasing music fans once again.

You may not be seeing Taylor Swift or Morgan Wallen at this beloved venue in Denver, but it's a great, intimate space to take in some fantastic artists. When it closed in 2024, many live music fans were devastated; the venue had a great "vibe" and reputation. Local artists along with bands from all over loved booking a gig there. Luckily, the spot is set to make a triumphant return.

The Soiled Dove Underground began its musical journey in 1997 in the LoDo District of Downtown Denver. Today, you'll find Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row country bar in The Soiled Dove's original spot. In 2006 the joint moved to a brand new spot in the Lowry neighborhood, which used to be home to Lowry Air Force Base, a training base, from 1937 to 1994.

In February of 2024, The Soiled Dove Underground, part of The Tavern Lowry, closed down after legal issues between the venue's owner and his mother, according to the Denver Post. In October of 2025, it was announced that the venue and restaurant above had a new owner and that owner would be turning the place into a community hub with a music school/recording studio and cafe upstairs and The Soiled Dove Underground, below.

Being a radio station, we promote concerts all over the Denver and Northern Colorado area; we gave away many pairs of tickets to see shows at The Soiled Dove Underground. I remember feeling very "hip" when we'd set someone up with a pair of tickets to see a show there. I never did, myself, see a show there; but now that it's returning, I should really make an effort to visit a piece of Denver's live music history.
