Score: Loveland Set to Welcome in 2nd Axe Throwing Joint
You wouldn't think that Loveland would need two axe throwing establishments within a couple of blocks of each other, but that's not stopping these folks.
Axe throwing in Colorado has really grown in popularity over the last few years. There are two locations in Fort Collins to throw axes, now Loveland will have two, as well. This new one in Loveland has a name that many may find "bordering on offensive."
I could be wrong, but I believe the spot next to Slice 'N' Roll Pizza in Downtown Loveland has been vacant for quite some time. Once upon a time, it was going to be the extension of Betta Gumbo, but that didn't happen as Betta Gumbo move into The Foundry. Coming in December of 2022, is a new axe throwing place will reside at 137 East 4th Street.
Axe to Grind, in The Foundry, has been open since late 2020. People that I know who've gone, really like the place. They charge about $25/hour to throw. Date nights are very popular at axe throwing places. I don't see myself impressing a date with my lack of axe throwing skills, but that's me.

If you do a Google search for "axe throwing in Colorado" you'll find about a dozen establishments across the state, including The Axe & Ale off of Lemay and Prospect, and Chiller's on Horsetooth. You'll find that a lot of these places have names that use "Axe" in a clever way:
- Axe to Grind - Loveland
- Lizzie's Axe Throwing- Brighton
- The Bad Hatchet - Westminster
- Primal Axe House - Denver
- Battle Axes - Denver
You'll also find establishments using the word "Axe" in substitution for "Ass" - such as Bad Axe Throwing in Denver. This new Loveland establishment is taking that a bit further.
"AxeHole." Not just AxeHole, but "#1 AxeHole." I guess if you're going to be an Axehole, you might as well be the best.
According to their website, they'll be charging $10 for 10 minutes and $25 for 90 minutes, starting on December 15, 2022.
