Scam Hits Northern Colorado Claiming to be Law Enforcement
Either way you look at it, it sucks to get taken advantage of or preyed upon. Another scam has surfaced across Northern Colorado, this time claiming to be law enforcement.
As the Coloradoan reported, the hunt is on across the Larimer County Sheriff's Office as phone scammers are trying to scam people in Northern Colorado.
The callers claim to be law enforcement and are telling people there are outstanding arrest warrants for the individuals for missing jury duty. People must pay with a PayPal pre-paid card to avoid arrest.
The Larimer County Sheriff's Office has reiterated that no law enforcement agency will ever contact a citizen via telephone and demand immediate payment to avoid arrest.
Who are the targets? Typically the most vulnerable, which also include senior citizens.
What do you do if you get a call? First, do not send any money. Then report the scammers to local law enforcement.
