Same Plot, Different Movies; Twinsie Films

I remember the summer of 1998. Watching previews in the theater. I got really excited when I saw the trailer fro Armageddon. Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, a meteor that will end life as we know it, and Michael Bay as a director. This movie was going to be huge. Directly after that was another preview. Morgan Freeman, Tea Leoni, and....a meteor that will end life as we know it. Wait, what? How is this possible?

Two movies with the exact same plot. Well as it turns out, it happens a lot. The Whisp website just released a lit of twinsie movies. Not only does it happen quite a bit, but it has been happening for a long time. In fact, all the way back to 1939. "Gone with the Wind", the highest grossing film of all time (when you take into account inflation), had a twinsie film called Jezebel.

White House Down (Channing Tatum) and Olympus has Fallen (Gerard Butler), Antz and A Bugs Life, Top Gun and Iron Eagle, the list goes on and on. To see the entire list and remissness, click here.
