John Elway will always be known as Denver's legendary quarterback to Coloradans and football fans everywhere. He took the Broncos to five Super Bowls, winning three of them, and winning the hearts of millions. He can't go to many places, including Loveland, without someone hitting #7 up for an autograph; even a restaurant who might want their van signed.

Imagine, after all these years, how many things that Elway has put his signature on: It has to be tens of thousands (if not more) of footballs, jerseys, hats, golf balls.. the list goes on and on. I wonder how many vehicles that he's signed, though? That probably doesn't come up all that often, but it did when he was in Loveland in early December of 2025.

In 2020 John Elway Dealerships acquired BMW of Loveland; I, myself, own a 2005 BMW and have been into the dealership a couple of times, if only to get a new key fob. It's fun having John Elway's name on it now; maybe someday I'll be there to get an actual vehicle from them. A man can dream, right? It was a dream come true for team members from a nearby Mexican restaurant, when they catered an even there in December 2025.

Ruben's Grill + Cantina opened in the spring of 2023, off of Crossroads Boulevard near I-25. Owned and operated by a family that has been in the Mexican restaurant business for generations. Those generations include members that saw John Elway guide the Broncos to those Super Bowl Championships. So, when Ruben's was at Loveland BMW to cater an event that had John Elway on the scene, they didn't hesitate in asking the Hall of Fame QB to sign their catering van.

MORE LOVELAND - A Look at the Downtown Safeway's Last Day

When I paid my last visit to the Downtown Safeway on its last day, October 25, 2025, it was with trepidation: I didn't want to see how sad it probably looked, but like watching a wreck on the highway, it was hard to not see the how it looked.
