Rocky Mountain National Park’s Lone Sledding Spot Now Open
Winter is quickly approaching — and now you kick off the season right at Rocky Mountain National Park's only sledding spot.
The Hidden Valley sledding area at Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) has officially opened for the 2020-2021 season, according to RMNP's Twitter page.
The park's website notes that Hidden Valley is the only area where sledding is permitted; No tows are provided, and you must bring your own plastic sled, saucer, or tube. Sleds with metal runners are prohibited.
If you can't supply your own sled, you may rent one in Estes Park at almost any outdoor shop.
Restroom access is available at the bottom of the hill by the parking lot. A warming room is also available on most weekends, as long as a park attendant is present.
For more information, visit nps.gov/romo or call the RMNP's information office at (970) 586-1206.
