Rocky Mountain High School Graduate and professional baseball player Marco Gonzalez will open the 2020 MLB season pitching for the Seattle Mariners.

Fort Collins own Marco Gonzalez will be on the mound Friday to open the 2020 season for the Seattle Mariners. In February, Gonzalez signed an extension with the Mariners to be paid $30 million for 4 years with "club option" for a fifth season according to Ken Rosenthal.

Gonzalez attended Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collin and lettered in baseball every year according to maxpreps.com. The last three years of his high school career he was named All-Colorado and All-Front Range for his play on the diamond. His senior year he was named Colorado High School Player of the Year after going undefeated and striking out 87 batters in 54 innings pitched.
