3 Colorado Amphitheaters Make List of USA Today's 10 Best

The USA Today 10 Best lists are all the rage, as the staple of hotel hallways across the country annually compiles their lists of all the "best" things America has to offer.

There's a ton of unique categories and many of those lists routinely cite things and places across the state of Colorado as among the best in the nation.

Well there's a new list, just out, that highlights not one, not two, but THREE different Colorado outdoor amphitheaters as among the ten best in the U.S.

With such a fabled venue like Red Rocks, of course Colorado is on the list. In fact, surely Red Rocks is number one, right? In fact... it's not even the top outdoor amphitheater in Colorado, according to the list. Shocker!

Coming in at #9 on the list is Dillon Amphitheater, located in - you guessed it - Dillon, CO. Sitting on the shore of gorgeous Lake Dillon, yeah, I totally understand why it's on the list. It's pretty remarkable up there.

But then coming in at a mere #7 on the list - of amphitheaters NATIONALLY, mind you - is Red Rocks. Such iconic shows have taken place at Red Rocks in its history, in addition to it's natural beauty and close proximity to the city, it's a shock that it's only #7.

So what beat out Red Rocks on the list? At #4 is "The Amp" - otherwise known as Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater up in Vail. Which, OK sure, is nice enough. But better than Red Rocks? I'm not so sure about that.
