Trey McBride was born in Greeley but grew up in Fort Morgan. As a tight end for CSU Rams Football, Trey has been as enigmatic as he’s been successful.

As a sophomore playing in the pandemic-shortened 2020-2021 season, Trey was able to make four touchdowns, two of them against the Wyoming Cowboys and one each against Fresno State and Boise State. The season saw Trey averaging 85 yards a game, and he’s ready for the new season to begin on September 4, 2021, at Canvas Stadium against South Dakota State.

While at Fort Morgan High School Trey earned All-Conference honors with him having 1,737 passing yards, 361 rushing yards and scoring 23 touchdowns. He also set records at Fort Morgan High in other sports with the most career points in basketball and most home runs and most RBIs in baseball.

With having an older brother already playing for the defense at CSU (Toby McBride) the decision to join the RAMS was an easy one, and he highly enjoys playing alongside his brother. After college, if the NFL doesn’t come calling, he and Toby may look at working together, as Trey is pursuing an Accounting degree.

After having lived in the Fort Collins area for a few years, Trey has become a fan of golf, most notably at Collindale. He likes to have an occasional pizza pie at Krazy Karl’s and recommends El Jacal if ever stopping through his hometown of Fort Morgan.

We had a great CSU Squad Spotlight conversation with Trey:
