One of Colorado State University's most notable alums has been tapped to host the 2021 MTV Movie and TV award show.

According to Rolling Stone, comedian and former CSU basketball player, Leslie Jones, will host the 2021 MTV Movie and TV Awards.

The show is set to air live from the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 16th at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Jones, who was once voted the "Funniest Person" on campus during her time in Fort Collins as a Ram, is also up for one MTV Movie and TV Award – Best Comedic Performance for her turn in Coming 2 America.

Aside from starring in the sequel to Eddie Murphy’s classic this year, Jones continues to host and serve as an executive producer on Supermarket Sweep. In addition, she also dropped a  one-hour stand-up special, Time Machine, back in 2020, and previously hosted the BET Awards in 2017.

According to Colorado State University, Jones "transferred to CSU to play basketball, but then entered a comedy contest and was named “Funniest Person on Campus.” She left school to pursue comedy full time and joined the cast of Saturday Night Live." TIME magazine also included the star in its 2017 World’s 100 Most Influential People list.
