When people hear the idea of a bathhouse coming to their Colorado town, they may get the wrong idea. Loveland having a Nordic-style contrast therapy spa/bathhouse is about helping physically and mentally, is a win for Northern Colorado.

What is Contrast Therapy That's Found at Plunj. in Loveland?

Contrast therapy is about alternating between hold and cold, in its basic sense. Athletes use it a lot to relieve pain in their muscles, but the therapy can assist in relieving things like insomnia and anxiety. It's about rejuvenation; a little "shock to the system" to get you going again.

Where Does This Contrast Therapy in Loveland Come From?

Plunj. started out in Provo, Utah in 2021. Founded by a couple interested in the Finnish-style of contrast therapy, putting an ice plunging together with a sauna. They looked for a place that had it, couldn't find one, so created their own. The location in Loveland is at Loveland Yards, on the south side by Vie Nail Supply.

I think many of us have heard of cold plunging; not that many of us have actually done it. It does seem like something profession football players and celebrities do. To pair a 45-degree plunge with a 200-degree sauna does sound intriguing. Plunj.'s sessions are: Hot, Cold, Rest, Repeat. Because what's better than doing it once? Doing it twice.

How Does a Plunj. Session Typically Work?

The basics: You do a quick shower, you hit the sauna for about 15 minutes, hit the cold plunge for about 5 minutes, take a break (have some tea or water,) then do it all again. And it's not terribly expensive: Walk-in rates are about $40, and you can get memberships that start at about $65 for four sessions/moth.
